Job Description

Summary/Function:
Provide research support to the Investment Team, assisting in the portfolio construction and administration of all investment strategies. Work directly with portfolio management of an equity investment strategy as well as assist in marketing and client service.

Experience and Skills

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, and MBA and/or CFA® designation.
* Five or more years of equity research experience, preferably in asset management, with broad industry and sector knowledge.
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
* Ability to identify and explain investment rationale.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills.
* Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines consistently.
* Ability and desire to assume a Portfolio Manager role.
* Proficiency with portfolio management research tools (Bloomberg preferred)

Locations:
* Seattle, WA or Carlsbad, CA

Duties:
* Screen the investible universe to discover companies whose securities may be candidates for inclusion in portfolios in accordance with investment strategy policies and tenets.
* Conduct initial and ongoing due diligence of companies owned in the strategies as well as companies that are candidates for ownership. Due diligence consists of, but is not limited to, analyzing a company’s SEC filings, understanding business drivers and risks, assessing valuation, and performing scenario analysis.
* Proactively communicate with multiple sources of information inside and outside of the firm to assist in the investment strategy research process. This process may at times require travel that would entail face-to-face meetings and/or telephone conversations with sell-side analysts, company management, customers, suppliers, and competitors.
* Collaborate with all members of the firm’s investment team by providing one’s own insights on the economy, financial markets, and investments currently held and/or under consideration.
* Assist in the management of investment strategies as needed. This includes understanding portfolio construction, risk management, and trading.
* Participate in all scheduled daily and weekly investment meetings.

The potential pay range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate. Additional incentive compensation may be earned based on performance.
