Experience and Skills
Qualifications:
• BS or BA in related field
• Successful completion of the FINRA Series 27 FINOP License
• Proven management and leadership experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Prior experience in a securities clearing environment
• Seasoned knowledge of the securities industry rules and regulations (FINRA/SEC/Others)
• Strong background in clearing operations systems (BetaNXT/Envestnet/DTCC/Others)
• Familiar with general accounting principles
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple vendor relationships.
• Able to establish policies and procedures; maintain adherence with client and firm confidentiality.
• Able to communicate in a clear and professional manor with a service-oriented approach in order to partner effectively and exchange ideas and information across the organization
• Ability to proactively work with both external and internal clients; relate with others in a professional manner in order to accomplish work responsibilities and objectives.
Duties:
• Development of departmental and leadership goals
• Provide leadership with a Senior Management Operations team.
• Plan, staff, direct personnel activities to include:
• Interview, hire and terminate employees.
• Prepare performance appraisals.
• Administer and manage large budgets.
• Provide staff development, training, and work direction.
• Take appropriate actions when disciplinary requirements are necessary.
• Oversee the daily management of operational functions of the Operations Clearing areas.
• Maintain relationships with vendors such as BETA, Broadridge, Envestnet and others.
• Communicate effectively to the COO and the other executive level leaders.
• Represent D.A. Davidson on various SIFMA and industry committees.
• Work with Compliance and Legal on regulatory changes in the industry
• Monitor external and internal audits.
• Operations Principal signoff of the monthly Focus report
• Help manage and develop the leadership teams in Operations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain and monitor department policies and procedures (WSP’s)
