Job Description

Summary/Function:
The Director of Investment Solutions will be responsible for maintaining the product shelf of Mutual Funds, UITs, Closed-End Funds and Preferred Stocks on the D.A. Davidson Wealth Management Platform; other products may be added over time. This person will have in-depth knowledge of the onboarding, supervision and operational process of each of these product types. In addition, this individual will be tasked with educating advisors on the available products, consulting regarding proper use, and training to operational workflow. This role will collaborate with leaders within the organization to manage the D.A. Davidson product offerings in a highly regulated environment. This role will also help to provide strategic direction for the department alongside leadership of the Advisor Solutions Team (AST).

Experience and Skills

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relative professional experience.
* In-depth expertise in the regulations concerning Mutual Funds, UITs, Closed-End Funds and Preferred Stock. Knowledge of other financial products preferred.
* Experience working directly with Financial Professionals, preferably in a product consulting capacity.
* Proven ability to think strategically and to implement initiatives that support Wealth Management’s strategic direction.
* Leadership capabilities to see projects and initiatives to completion and to carry out the mission of the department.
* Excellent communication (oral and written), strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across business units and teams.
* Excellent inter-personal and relationship-building skills.
* Flexibility to travel to branches in the Davidson footprint, sometimes with short notice.
* Series 7, 24, 65/66 required or the ability to obtain with 120 days of employment.

Duties:
* Work directly with Financial Professionals to train and educate on the following product types; Mutual Funds, UIT’s, Complex/Alternative Investments, Closed-End Funds, Preferred Stock.
* Build and maintain a process for evaluating available product shelf.
* Manage a team responsible for facilitating product workflow.
* Ensure that the policies and procedures on existing products are robust, consistent, and kept current with firm and regulatory standards on an ongoing basis.
* Collaborate, as needed, with Equity Capital Markets and Fixed Income Capital Markets product owners with respect to offerings utilized by Davidson Financial Advisors.
* Identify, measure, report and mitigate risks related to the products and collaborate with Conflict and Risk Committees.
* Develop an understanding of how Financial Professionals utilize products and facilitate workflows that enables ease of use.
* Manage projects, including formulating project plans and timelines, facilitating working sessions, reporting on progress, and driving execution.
* Implement rule changes that impact covered products.
* Educate both home office employees and advisors on product policies and procedures as it relates to regulatory requirements.
* Work in close collaboration with the Supervision, Compliance and Legal teams, to build and maintain key relationships, to promote a culture of engagement and connectivity.
* Help to limit the firm’s regulatory and reputational risk and reinforce the firm’s culture of compliance.
* Stay current with regulatory and business best practices through participation in industry events and continuing education.
* Establish firm’s reputation as a thought leader in the product offering space.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

The potential base pay hiring range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate.
