The Benefits and Leave of Absence Analyst is responsible for all benefit administration functions for the employee population. D.A. Davidson currently offers a robust benefit package to over 1,400 employees and their families across 27 states. This position would report directly to the Benefit Manager and is a great opportunity for someone interested in growing and developing their career in the benefits field. This position would also be responsible for administration of our leave programs, being first point of contact for employees requesting leave.

Experience and Skills

Job Summary & Responsibilities
* Serve as lead for leave administration, partners with the Benefit Manager and Senior HR Business Partners
o Act as employee’s first point of contact on leaves
o Facilitate necessary communications and ensure related-processes are completed
o Work in close concert with employees, managers, Payroll, and relevant vendors
o Identify issues and work to resolve them, escalating as appropriate
o Ensure compliance with relevant federal and state-specific leave requirements
* Respond to employee benefit inquiries, including medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability plans, retirement plans and other supplemental plans
* Assist Benefit Manager in addressing non-routine questions; liaise between employees and relevant vendors to help resolve problems and misunderstandings; coordinate the required flow of information and documentation
* Monitor and process employee-initiated benefit election changes in Workday, process other changes in Workday as needed and appropriate
* Approve requested life event changes as appropriate, insuring that documentation is submitted that allows a mid-year change, follows internal procedures and applicable state and federal laws before approving changes
* Assist in all aspects of the annual Open Enrollment
* Assists with monthly billings to employees and reconciles accounts
* Facilitate and administer benefit information sessions for employees as needed
* Regular reconciliation of vendor discrepancy reports
* Conduct various Workday system audits
* Ensure documentation is scanned and/or filed appropriately
* Participates in other Human Capital projects and initiatives as appropriate and assigned

Basic Qualifications:
* Client-focused; willing to assist employees via email, phone, and in-person when necessary
* Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal
* Able to work with highly sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate and professional manner
* Ability to work efficiently through frequent interruptions
* Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as within a team environment
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to learn how to utilize new systems and programs as needed; including Workday and benefit vendor website portals
* Willingness to expand knowledge of benefit administration through continuous education opportunities
* 2-4 years of experience in either a human resources department or a benefits or leave administrative company, college degree preferred
